Reverend Dr. Theodore Tyrone Brown is the Pastor of the historic Quioccasin Baptist Church.
Reverend Dr. Theodore T. Brown was elected in October 2017 as the ninth pastor of the historic Quioccasin Baptist Church in Henrico County, Virginia. With a legacy of over 157 years of Christian service, the church has grown steadily under his leadership and, in recognition of its significance, was designated a Henrico County Historical Landmark. Dr. Brown has guided the church through spiritual renewal and strategic growth, including retiring major debt, expanding ministries, and investing in modern worship technology that equips the congregation for 21st-century ministry.
Dr. Brown is academically grounded and spiritually formed. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was named Most Outstanding Religious Studies Student. He received his Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and holds a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where his dissertation focused on mentorship in the African American Baptist church. A lifelong learner, he is also a graduate of the RUAH School of Spiritual Guidance.
His ministry extends beyond the pulpit into the wider community. Dr. Brown served for over a decade as an instructor with the Evans-Smith Leadership Training Program and has worked in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. In 2018, he was elected to the Board of Directors for Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, serving on the social justice committee. He has been invited to deliver prayer at the Virginia House of Delegates, the Henrico County Board of Supervisors, and other civic gatherings. At Quioccasin, he has led initiatives such as a daily 6:00 AM prayer line, the creation of new youth and bereavement ministries, and community programs including Summer Meals for children and families.
With the theme “Rooted in Legacy, Rising in Vision,” Dr. Brown now leads Quioccasin’s Capital Campaign to expand its facilities for worship, education, and community engagement. He is married to Pamela Johnson Brown, an educator in Chesterfield County Schools, and together they are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Morgan and Cameron. Grounded in faith, family, and service, Dr. Brown continues to lead Quioccasin Baptist Church as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for transformation in the Henrico community and beyond.
